Attention all Warehouse Arts District Members!
As you may have already heard we are participating in the First Night 2014, by taking over Williams Park with the “Warehouse Arts District Experience”. Part of this event will be led by Vice President Salvador St. Germain and will be called “Luminous Flight”.
We invite you to Soft Water Studios (515 22nd street south, unit F) on Thursday, December 19th from 6-8pm to help decorate the luminaries. They will all flight related such as hot air balloons, kites, UFOs, airplanes, Da Vinci inspired machines, whatever your imagination can stir up. All art supplies will be provided for you to decorate your own flying machine that will be hung up on First Night to represent yourself, your studio or gallery.
Even if you are not attending First Night 2014, this is a great opportunity for thousands of people to see your art work and a huge FREE advertising opportunity, so please come out and show your support on 12/19/2013! We would like to see all members, studios, and galleries of the WADA represented that night. Beverages are BYOB, and there will be food and snacks provided. Thank you and see you thereJ

On November 20th, the Warehouse Arts District held an open general public meeting. The turnout was wonderful however several people were unable to attend. Feel free to email us back with any questions or concerns.

SummaryThe Warehouse Arts District currently has 59 Active Members.
Marketing Committee – The board reviewed the draft strategy then emailed to Nancy Mayer, Marketing
Committee chair, on October 29th to begin implementation.
Building Community – One meeting with Job Corp volunteers has been completed with another one being scheduled to discuss numbers and details. Need 8 volunteers
Member Resources/Website – The website is being reviewed and awaiting final content details and credit card functionality then will be made public.
Trolley Committee –The trolley stops for Nov-Jan sponsored by the St. Pete Chamber and the St. Pete Arts Alliance were sent to John Collins for submission into Travelhost Magazine. Map is being created
First Night First Flight Participation – Planning meeting happening on October 29th to discuss the timing of events. Event is moving forward. Duncan will be doing a dry run of what he has planned for First Night during November 23rd’s Craft Art Event.
WAD member show in Station Number Three – Final flyer is complete. 2-3 sponsors are in line for the show and the call for artists is still open. The marketing of the event is starting soon.
Creative Loafing approached the Warehouse Arts District for participation in their holiday auction for the benefit of The Children’s Home taking place November 14-December 12. We will be donating a trolley tour.
Next board meeting scheduled for November 13th at 6pm at the Train Station.
